Holden WB ute

The Farm bosses' workhorse..

I first saw this Ute stripped back as to bare cab and in a million pieces across the garage and was given a vision of what the customer wanted to achieve. "I want to showcase it as the tough workhorse i remember driving but with all the shiny bits and pieces of a top spec model". We titled it the 'farm bosses' workhorse' and with that the discussion on interior direction began.

We decided to retain the factory brown vinyl but the design was left in my hands. With a quality OEM style in mind i decided to throw in a lighter contrast to really catch the eye of the viewer. A touch i believe screams 'not your ordinary work ute'.

Having tossed about the idea of embroidery in our discussion i was skeptical on the idea of putting it in. Im glad i changed my mind however. Matching the contrast coffee colour, the embroidery sits right at home on both the doors and backrest centre. Really gives the whole interior a luxurious feel, whilst not going overboard.

There was plenty sad about this interior before i got my mitts on it let me tell you. Some subtle pieces that would probably go otherwise unnoticed include a new bowed roof lining retrimmed in matching vinyl, the kick panels and A pilars also retimmed in matching vinyl and the original visors and arm rests needed a refresh so they got re dyed in a matching brown.

By no means is this a very over-the-top or expensive interior. More like a refresh for the old girl. It's quite easy to get the look, feel, touch and appeal of a brand new interior without spending the huge dollars of a full retrim and this WB ute testament to that. A few minor changes and an open mind on design can really allow for a great interior on any budget.

The customer was blown away and as am i with the result. Especially when it all came together upon final assembly. We took the ute for a little cruise and had to stop to snap up a few shots as the sun set.
